Grassroot sports are an important part of the wellbeing of our communities. The State Government recognises this and is investing in local sport.
State Member for Narre Warren South Gary Maas MP, announced that the State Budget 2022-2023 will provide $1.5 million towards the upgrade of facilities at Strathaird Reserve.
The Reserve is home to local sporting clubs including Narre South Cricket, Football, Netball and Junior Football clubs which will benefit from improved facilities that will encourage greater participation and improved experiences for players, families, and spectators.
The improvements will encourage greater diversity and access while meeting the needs of growing female participation.
Sport brings people of all ages together which enhances social connection and improves physical and mental well-being.
Gary Maas MP looks forward to working on the redevelopment of the Reserve’s facilities with stakeholders including City of Casey, sporting groups and residents for the much-needed upgrade.
Local sporting clubs are at the heart of our communities and they promote a sense of belonging and encourage everyone to get out there and get active.
Strathaird Reserve deserves up-to-date, accessible and modern sporting facilities, which the Andrews Labor Government is helping to deliver.
