Hampton Park Secondary College Finalists in Victorian Education Excellence Awards

19 September 2024 Hampton Park Secondary College has two finalists for the Victorian Education Excellence Awards 2024. The awards recognise inspirational teachers, principals, business managers and education support staff who improve schools and support children and young people.

Hampton Park Secondary College has two finalists for the Victorian Education Excellence Awards 2024. The awards recognise inspirational teachers, principals, business managers and education support staff who improve schools and support children and young people.

Member for Narre Warren South Gary Maas MP, congratulated Ms Alison Fiddes in the Outstanding Early Career Secondary Teacher award category and the Hampton Park Secondary College Wellbeing Team in the Outstanding Education Support Team award category.

Ms Fiddes has been recognised for her work developing effective and innovative new ways to improve teaching practices and programs that support student engagement and outcomes.

Ms Fiddes played a key role in the development of rubrics that encourage student led improvement and the implementation of the first year of the Victorian Pathways Certificate at the college.

Hampton Park Secondary College’s Wellbeing Team has been recognised for their culturally safe model that has seen incredible results for students and their families by connecting them to mental health support in an accessible on-site capacity with student engagement increasing from 3% to 24%.

The winners of each award will be announced at a ceremony at the Plaza Ballroom on Friday, 25 October, to coincide with World Teachers’ Day. There are 13 award categories with 38 finalists from schools across the state.

Victorian Education Excellence Award winners will receive grants of up to $25,000 to undertake professional development and learning, to ensure our teachers are well supported to lead great careers in the Education State.

One category winner will also receive the esteemed Lindsay Thompson Award for Excellence in Education, which offers a further professional learning grant of $20,000.
