Recognising Local Heroes in Narre Warren South

The Narre Warren South area is built upon a strong community spirit and is home to many hard-working people who make significant contributions to the local community.

State Member for Narre Warren South Gary Maas is pleased to announce the launch of his ‘Local Heroes’ campaign. This initiative will recognise individuals who have gone to great efforts via their own work or that of their organisation to support the Narre Warren South community - especially during these difficult times of a pandemic.

Mr Maas is inviting residents to nominate a person who they believe is making a significant contribution to our area.

Through recognising local heroes, Mr Maas hopes to ensure that hard-working, selfless individuals are credited for their exemplary community service while also raising awareness of the important services they deliver.

Local heroes have never been more important than at times such as during the current pandemic. Victorian communities have adapted to change like never before and many heroes have taken extra steps to care for our vulnerable community members.

Mr Maas believes it’s high-time to recognise these special locals. There will be awards, prizes and a public awareness campaign for the work of the selected local heroes and the services they provide.

Nominators of selected local heroes will also receive a prize. The best way to nominate your local hero is at garymaas.org.au, by contacting Mr Maas’ office on 8783 6959 or via his social media channels. Nominations close 5pm on 11 September 2020.
