There’s a reason why the City of Casey is one of Victoria’s fastest growing areas – whether people have lived here their whole lives, chosen to start their families here, or have recently immigrated to Australia, they are drawn to our vibrant and diverse community. From fantastic local shops to great food and family activities, we have a lot to offer.
I talk often about how much community matters, and that’s because, as your local MP for Narre Warren South, I see first-hand what we can achieve when we work together for the betterment of our local area. I have also seen just how important community is in times of need. During the pandemic, we have seen people come together while staying apart. We’ve donated to charities and not-for-profits like never before. We’ve dropped off care packages to our neighbours, called loved ones regularly to check in. We’ve also learned, worked and stayed in touch online – in many cases learning new skills on our way forward. We have stood strong.
Too often, however, the quiet work done by individuals and community organisations goes unnoticed. That’s why I want to take the time to celebrate those who have made our lives better or easier. Before or during the pandemic.
If you know of any individuals or organisations who have done outstanding work that deserves to be recognised, please contact me.
