The Andrews Government takes education as seriously as you do. We don’t cut costs when it comes to securing our future.
In fact, we invest heavily in it. From January 2019, the Government has invested $172 million to make 30 priority TAFE courses and 20 pre-apprenticeship courses free. The free courses are in growth industries where skills are needed for secure jobs.
To make sure every Victorian who wants a job can get this free, quality training, $303.8 million is needed to create more than 30,000 new training places.
Apprenticeships will be also be modernised with $43.8 million to revamp learning materials, ensuring consistent industry standards with new independent assessments. Trade papers will be re-introduced to recognise these qualifications.
